Truly you must be running with the wrong crowd. Not to say that there is no crime in Yakima but tell me which city in the country has no drug dealing, no small petty thieves, no homicides. Show me one and I will show you a town that has no cops.Like others have said, it has beautiful 4 seasons, friendly diverse culture etc, so I will not mention those but will mention what others have not mentioned like decent public and private christian schools, the annual rodeo shows in neighbouring Ellensburg and Toppenish, the racing car sports events, the Hot balloon festival just 30 minutes away in Prosser,Vintage car shows in Yakima, historic Air museum in Yakima, beautiful veterans parade in downtown Yakima and Toppenish on memorial day.Do you know that the world class TreeTop orange juice has its origin from Yakima county? Do you know that an ex Olympic medal swimmer was once rumored to have a home in Yakima? Do you know that ex-US world champion goalkeeper Hope Solo grew up 70 minutes away from Yakima? You ignored all these and talk about Meth, please give me a break!

That "Baddddd" review was posted ages ago, but it's one I came across when I was faced with moving to Yakima for a job. It's a shame, because it left me disheartened. I've actually never forgotten the words "odor of meth in the outside air", and every time I catch a whiff of hops I think THAT'S probably what the odor was. It's an unusual smell but certainly not offensive, especially if you like beer! After living in Yakima since 2012 my husband and I have decided this is the best place we've ever found ourselves, and we've lived in ten different states. That said, I'd want to be in a bigger, more bustling city if I were right out of college. We're about to retire and we're really glad we're HERE for that. Don't listen to Mister Baddddd - you can feel great about coming to Yakima!

Wow, you must run with the wrong crowd. I've lived here 11 years and I haven't seen or experienced any of the things you mentioned in your review. Yakima is a beautiful, hometown community rich in history, culturally diverse, and so much to do! We have the Season's Performance Hall, the Capitol Theatre, The museum, concerts and outdoor events all summer long, lots of choices for dining and shopping, an abundance of the most beautiful vineyards, the best hops in the nation, gorgeous rich agriculture, outdoor activites, and the BEAUTIFUL YAKIMA RIVER.
