Review of Alma, Michigan

"A little country town"
Star Rating - 7/12/2007
If you are in search of a quiet little country town, big enough for shopping at the local Wal-mart, yet just a stone throw away to the country sides, then Alma is your place to visit! Miles long country roads allows the bystander to witness life in the slow lane! No traffic jams! Just miles and miles of quietness! Witness the deer near sunset, grazing in the field. Take a liesurely stroll down the Pine River in Sumner Township and enjoy the slow moving river with the captive audience of the wild life. Of course this is an adventure to be taken between June and August. The Fall is the most beautiful season to journey through Alma and the remainder of Michigan as well. The leaves on the trees turning their beautiful array of colors! Take lots of pictures you will be glad you did! In the winter time look forward to staying in where it is warm at one of the three lodging choices in town and sip on that warm hot chocolate. All the while appreciating the scenery of the white snow on the branches of the sometimes iced tree branches. For those who can withold the cold - venture out and make snow angels, snow men or go snow sking at the snow ski resort north of Alma. Post card picture, for sure! Oh and one more very important point - "Please stop in at their local meat market down town and enjoy a piece of pickled bologna! Michigan is the only state that produces it. A special treat for sure! Just remember Alma is not for those wanting to be in the fast lane. Its for appreciating a slower pace in life. Enjoy!
