Review of Newton, New Jersey

Sussex County
Star Rating - 4/21/2006
If your going to live in Northern New Jersey, Sussex County is your best option. Hudson County is the most overcrowded area of the entire state. Passaic and Essex Counties have a lot of crime and urban decay. Bergan and Morris Counties are very expensive. Sussex County is an excellent alternative. It has low crime rates, low population density, an attractive, rural atmosphere and reasonable housing costs relative to its neighboring counties. Newton, the capitol seat, is a very nice small town and has most of the conveniences that you need. The only downside may be the need to commute a ways to work, but overall it is a livable place. I grew up in the Northeast, but moved to the Northwest because it is a much better place to raise a family.
