Ideal Retirement Place and Quiet Living Location
Star Rating - 12/2/2019
I've been here now having had a home built for our retirement for about 2 years. The people here in general are exceptionally kind. It is wonderful to not even have a stop light in town. In areas outside of the main street (State St./Hwy 30) you aren't assaulted by the typical street lights which makes for a delightful lack of light pollution to see the stars at night. Town is typically very quiet in the evenings as well. There is a considerable movement towards more folks of retirement age here in town which is good for me. Having come from Utah it's a welcome change. Doctor, dentist, pharmacy and several restaurants as well as a modest market are all right here so no continuous need to commute. The air quality on most days is exceptional and our water is noted as some of the finest there is from springs supplying the city's supply. This is NOT a town you'd want to live in if you have a job to commute to. But if you're retired or can work from home it's ideal. It's too far from Twin Falls to be a "bedroom community" so I see the population being quite stable overall which frankly is a good thing. NO drugs, graffiti, crime and all the trappings of the big city fortunately. The kids here do good things for the city. It's almost a bit like going back to the 50's regarding the typical raising of kids. A real delight.
