In general, many people in and around this area have a tendency to be clannish. If you are willing to stay there for a decade or so, you may be finally fully accepted. People have a tendency to be provincial, conservative, religious, and close-minded. Cherryville usually has a great high school baseball team and little league system. They have won state championships in the past. Some kids get killed or injured racing their cars down those winding country roads. I spent my teenage years there during the eighties. I can´t say it´s all bad. I did manage to make some good friends there. If you want to move to the area, I would suggest moving to Shelby instead.
