Review of Sangerville, Maine

Sangerville, Maine the way life should be.......
Star Rating - 9/15/2010
Sangerville is a small town in Maine that is extremely quiet and tranquel. The town itself is so small that if you blink twice when driving through you may miss it. Those who can be self-employed will do better here than those seeking work. It is a good place to raise children and has many recreational opportunities it being between the picture perfect Wassokeag lake in Dexter and Manhanock lake in sangerville itself. It is a short ride to Peaks Kenney state park in Sebec where you can camp and swim and look at mountain views. It is also a short ride from Boarstone Mountain in Elliotsville. Being centrally located means it is 2 hour drive from Bar Harbors rocky coast and also 2 hour drive to Beautiful Moxie Falls in The Forks. Maine has it all even a 40 acre desert in the freeport area! (called the Desert of Maine)Rocky Coast, sandy beaches (Old orchard, Ogunquit to name a few),Breathtaking lakes, rivers and streams.Hiking trails, mountains, waterfalls, the desert, camping and fishing, skiing and snowshoeing, kayaking (I sudjest everyone should do this on wassokeag lake at least once)and daily reminders of a simpler time when people still says "hi" to strangers and generally try to be helpful. Sangerville would be a great place to bring a buisness as there is a readily supply of workers. Closest Walmart is about 20 miles. Several grocery stores in area (Dexter, guilford, Dover-Foxcroft) but there is a desperate need for clothing stores. Sangerville school age children go to Guilford schools (PCES K-6; PCSS 7-12). Student teacher ratio is 1 to 14. Housing is relatively inexspensive and homes with real property (5-25+ acres can still easily be found). Sangerville is about a 1 hour drive to either Bangor or Waterville two of Maines major cities. It is about 2 hour drive to Portland. Hunting enthusiasts love Maine for it's abundant wildlife and moose hunting season. It is not unusual to watch deer on your property (or moose) as you drink your morning coffee. Many children in Maine still ice skate on frozen ponds and lakes as we have seen in so many Norman Rockwell type paintings. We all know how life is (stressful, hectic ) that is why I say Sangerville, Maine is the way life should be. Come turn back the clock to a simpler time. We look forward to meeting 'you guys'. (Down south they say 'Y'all' in Maine we say 'you guys' whether male or female.)
