This was my comment from when I was 17 years old. Kinda made me laugh. But I would like to add now that I am older. I still completely love Elmira. There is so much beauty here. From all the things you can do out doors. (Tangle wood, Harris hill, Eldridge park) it’s not too far from Watkins and Ithaca which are also beautiful. I’ve made a few trips to the Adirondacks and am constantly going to explore NYC. I’ve realized most people who don’t like it here have just been stuck in the same toxic cycles of there parents. But there is so much more then what your parents have showed you. Some people need to get away to see that there’s more to life. But I was raised right and know that I can live home and still see the world and chase my dreams. No matter where you move there will be good and bad everyone is just “trying to get out” I moved to Georgia for a year and everyone was trying to move and get out of there. I came back home because I realized home is where you grew up and your family is. I now live home and work with the youth kids in my community. And it’s my greatest Joy. But not everyone is destined to stay here.

Lived in Elmira for 6 months in 1989. Attended Elmira College and Corning Community college as a Caribbean exchange student for a semester (January to June). Very nice City. Had fun time running over the bridge. Had an african American friend working at Weiss Supermarket who always looked out for me with. "be careful how you walk in the snow" Nice place , nice people. Nice nuns. Lived at Dunns memorial Apartments.

This comment was obviously written by a 17 year-old who offers nothing more than contributing to the community than running the streets. Comment again in 20 years (if you're still here) when you're actually affected by the rising unemployment and declining job opportunities. Oh, and I'd love to hear your opinion then about the kids who run the streets.
