Review of San Diego, California

San Diego - Yuck
Star Rating - 10/9/2020
Not what you think. I moved to San Diego in 2019 and left in 2020. Housing is horrible, meaning high priced and lack of. Lots of homelessness but I never left unsafe downtown where I lived. Not any nice housing areas in the area you have to go further north. High taxes and low wages. Dry as can be but the sun is nice and climate is mild. Terrible traffic from border. Wasn’t for me so I cut my losses and left quick. Not the best place to reside in CA. Also job market is weak.

I think you didn't give it enough time AND you stayed in the city. Love to visit the city but the suburbs are much nicer to live in with many more options. The suburbs are the place to be....more affordable and safe! Traffic isn't as bad as LA for sure! It is overall expensive in California now. It didn't used to be that way when I first moved here 35 years ago! But unfortunately liberal policies have increased taxes, housing and overall expenses that may require me to follow many of my friends move out of state.

LOL you lived here for 1 year but will remember this place for the rest of your life. Like a scorned lover, you will forever yearn for this place. Good luck with your weather and mcdonalds in MN =)

Job market is weak! I managed to get a remote job offer but I'm declining it because if I get laid off my options are low paying entry level jobs ($45K/year) in sales, biotech, healthcare, or telecommunications. All of which could be considered blue collar jobs, no college education required. Grinding out 50 hour weeks working in a warehouse at $21.25/hour just to make it here sounds exhausting! Especially with a college degree!
