Review of St. Augustine, Florida

Uncontrolled growth without accompanying services
Star Rating - 10/3/2006
We love our home in St. Augustine, but the "county planners" are not doing their job! They seem to be too caught up in the economic boom that accompanies rapid growth. We hope someone will get a grip on this problem. It's HOT, HOT, HOT from June through September. Just when you think you will get a break from the heat, it's back again. One of us likes the heat and the other really dislikes it, and is always looking for ways to escape it. The winters are beautiful. Hard to garden in summer with the heat. Last month we had a water mocassin and a pygmy rattler in the yard - one right in the garden, which is discouraging. There is a wide variety of cultural events - from opera to folk singing and rock bands. First Friday of the month art walks are lovely.
