NY resident retiring in SC

looking to move to SC to retire in the near future. Currently living in the Adirondacks where the temp was minus 15 this past winter. I am looking at Fort Mill, SC as my husband enjoys spending time on his sailboat, and can sail it on Lake Wyley which is nearby. I am interested in learning about the 4 seasons that may be experienced in that area. I am also interested in hearing from folks who moved from the cold NE to Fort Mill, SC. I hope to get a response from Elizabeth, from Rome, NY.
