Newbury Park is part of the city of Thousand Oaks. The quality of life here is excellent. Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley have 2 of the lowest, if not the lowest crimes rates in the state. We have lived here since 1998 and have not been disappointed with anything except the high cost of living. Now that we are retired, even though we hate to leave we have to find a more affordable place. This area for the most part caters to professionals with 6 figure incomes.

I can't agree more with Charles. We have lots of hiking trails with a national park steps away. The streets are bicycle friendly with bike lanes everywhere. We have great weather and some of the better schools, for CA standards. I love Newbury Park. Shocked with a 1/1 Sperling crime rating it is never listed as a safe place to live, but Sperling does tend to skip over most of the west coast in general.
