El Dorado Hills, just a few miles from the "gold chain" on Hwy 49, but the "gold" I'm writing about is not the nugget, but water, called "liquid gold." A word of warning if you decide to move here; be prepared to pay plenty for water. Average water bill per month with a household of two will be upwards of $150 per month if you are conservative in use. Google El Dorado Irrigation District and get the facts. IMO, the community is being ripped off by the water district without any course of action...its a one-way street and in their favor.
