Englewood is a small town and doesn't have much to do there besides the beach. You would have to drive to Sarasota or Venice if you want more activities.

I am considering a move to Florida. I am a retiree, widow. I love the Dunedin area & have vacationed there in years past. But that area has become very expensive. Someone suggested Englewood as a similar place but less expensive housing, etc. I like the old-Florida vibe. I would like to know how people think Englewood compares to Dunedin. I liked the easy beach access, proximity to stores, restaurants, & the bike trail in Dunedin. I want to be near activities/amendities yet dont want a congested feeling & hate traffic. Living in an area where I dont need a car every day is a plus.
