Review of Tecumseh, Nebraska

Tecumseh: Go or No Go?
Star Rating - 11/30/2008
I was born/raised near Tecumseh and have seen it's decline over the years. The Historic Courthouse is beautiful as ever but, the surrounding City Square is nearly empty except for banks and lawyers. The only thing holding this town together is the State Prison north of town. Since the MBA Chicken plant moved most of it's operation out, jobs are hard to find. The High School has consolidated with a nearby one. The only thing the county/city planners know how to do is raise taxes. What the demographics don't show are the illegal alien population, which is relatively high. The grocery store is fairly large and well stocked, and is open 7 days. Churches are well stocked on Sundays. There are sevaeral doctors and a good hospital that is the only one in the area that still delivers babies.
Tecumseh is a good place to live, but there aren't many jobs.
