Review of Manteca, California

Manteca is a meh
Star Rating - 1/26/2020
I just moved to this City from Southern CA for work close by. Given the other over-inflated prices of housing in Northern CA and the Bay Area in particular, Manteca is not so bad. I am paying the most I ever have for an apartment that is nice but slapped together quickly in an ok neighborhood that I would not feel comfortable walking through at night. Very eclectic in terms of population, traffic primarily from commuters who are trying to escape rents near San Fran and surrounding areas and commuting long distances. Still getting to know the place but not a lot going on in the immediate area in terms of things to do. If you work around here, I would consider Manteca over Stockton, Tracy, and other areas.

True. Only thing is that this place still need better commute to bay area. If the bypass takes shape in next couple of year, this place will surely draw more attention.

You are right about lack of things to do. If you want to engage in cultural activities or take an art class it’s pretty bleak. If you want to drink and play softball lots of opportunities. Upside is proximity to Yosemite and the Ocean.
