Review of Portsmouth, Virginia

Consider merger with P-town
Star Rating - 6/13/2006
There's been some talk but no specific decisions have been made yet at least on a local level but the City of Norfolk should welcome the merger with P-Town if proposed. Portsmouth's most prominent neighborhoods are named after Norfolk, "Port Norfolk", "West Norfolk" etc. and the Portsmouth Marine Terminal would get a boost from the Norfolk International Terminal. Portsmouth does offer virgin land in Churchland and tons of vacant lots in midtown ripe for redevelopment. Both cities would also benefit from muual development of Craney Island for the third crossing and expanded Marine Terminals for the Port of Virginia.
