Review of Redding, California

River Runs Throught It
Star Rating - 4/5/2007
Redding is a river city. You can't drive any where without seeing the beautiful Sacramento River. We have lots of trees here and although we do get scorching...scorching summers we are green and unlike the desert do cool down in the evenings. You can grow anything here from citrus, peaches, lovely and varied trees; crepe myrtle, magnolia, redwoods, Japanese maple, trident maple, Queen Palms, etc. The flowers range from clematis, roses, bouginvilla (sp) mandevilla (sp) and all in between. We have a nice airport and from here you can travel anywhere. Friendly people (which I've always thought depends on you).
Housing is not inexpensive but certainly not San Francisco. We are within a stones throw from Oregon so it's a nice drive to have lunch and come back. My favorite is the winter; not freezing, wonderful rains. It's a good place.

Hello, Can you describe Redding's weather between Nov. 1 and April 1? Someone has commented that Redding's weather is either too hot or too cold. Thank you very much. Jim in Flagstaff

Can you tell me if it is any cooler very near the river? I have been looking at houses online that are near the bend of the river on the south side, near the Market Street Bridge. I like downtown areas. Do you know anything about this area?
