Boulder has NO MANNERS!!!
Star Rating - 3/3/2011
The people in Boulder are self-absorbed and have no accountability for their actions. They have absolutely no manners whatsoever. Men do not hold doors open for people, folks do not say excuse me or get out of your way in the grocery store. You cannot throw a rock in Boulder without hitting a Subaru Outback. My greatest joy every day is leaving this mannerless bubble and high-tailing it to my cabin in the mountains in an entirely different county. If you are a wannabe hippie with lots of money, then Boulder is the place for you. But if you a "normal" person with manners and a basic appreciation of humanity, then stay away! It will sour your good disposition!!! Boulder is NOT a normal town and is full of the rudest people I have ever come across. Boulder sucks!

What?? Where did you come up with this? Ive travelled around the world my whole life; I visited poor 3rd world countries, basked in the sun in exotic tourist locations, froze my ass off in countries above the arctic circle, yet Boulder is one of my favorite places on earth! Im not gonna get into how amazing the weather and locations are; I think everyone agrees with that. Your generalization about people in Boulder is absurd! Im not a 'wanna-be hippie' in any way and I love the people here! What do you mean they have no accountability?? This is the veg and environmental center of the country?? They ARE well mannered (people hold doors for me all the time?), they are generally very happy and content with life, they don't preach beliefs, they are open minded, etc… Sure we have our fair share of ridiculous people but have you ever been to NYC or any other place? ..ever? I don't know if your a mean old lady or a smelly hillbilly; all I know is that ive never got that kind of reactions which says alot about you..

I definitely catch your drift about the self-absorbed stuff, but isn't all of liberal America pretty much that way. I think Boulderites are for the most part very nice and friendly in their own way. I would describe the ones you're talking about as high-minded elitists.

I found Boulder to be one of the friendliest cities I've ever visited, and I've been to nearly every major city in the contiguous 48 states.

I completely agree. I took a visit to boulder yesterday for the first time and encountered the rudest people I've ever met. It's full of wannabe "hippies", pretentious college kids and yuppies, I was not impressed. The only good part was the mountain views and the amazing shops, but the people are not friendly and the one's that are nice are clones of pot smoking hippies who loack individuality. I'm a caring, open minded free spirited person yet I don't label myself as anything or believe I'm better than others for the way I live like most people do in Boulder. Yes the system is corrupt but just because I like to go shopping doesn't make me materialistic or selfish. Things aren't black and white, Boulder irritated me a bit. I was glad to come back to Denver
