Hello,, we love it here! We have lived in quiet new Windsor for the past 13 years!! Well educated! Retirement community! Very small & quiet! No crime! Great police dept! Great schools! River front has excellent food & wine! We have a town day in the summer time! We have West Point near bye ,, great shows open to the public! Woodbury commons Gucci coach very high end stores only two malls like ours in the country! Ours and California!! Great food there too!! We have the FBI near bye & we have a ton of government workers military that live here! My area we have a ton of nypd officers Sgt and captains etc,,, our neighbors are engineers & on the other side is a principal and a lawyer! Wine sales & nypd ,, post office workers nurses! Great area! Gymnastics near us! Nail salons spas pizza etc.. music at town hall in the summer time! You have to drive to westchester other areas for doctors ,, if u want good ones! We don’t mind,, Day care not far! I will say not many kids here! That could change soon! I see new families moving here! Not many homes for sale but some! That’s good! We’re all holding in our spots lol Mostly older folks! Very quiet here! No One plays loud music! No police cars or ambulances it’s very quiet! That’s a good thing! We are zero home invasions ,,zero car break -ins! I have left my stuff outside over night ,, bikes in the yard,,no theft! No one bothers u here! Or your stuff!! People are nice some are clickish but nice! We all dress up & pass out candy for Halloween! We all decorate for all holidays! Our lawns are well cared for! We take pride in our homes! We sold our 2 million dollar home on Staten Island ny & moved here! We paid 425,000!!! Nice area! Our two kids loved it here! School Bus is front door pick up can’t beat it! The town of Newburgh ny is very nice too!! Big homes nice area! There is a getto near every high end place in America! Here in new Windsor zero homeless mostly republican area! Great town meetings u can be involved in our town stuff!! We are only 1 hour 25 min from nyc! It’s great because u can shop on Saturday & eat in the city! Come home to quiet by evening! Mostly older folks here! We go to the fireworks in new Windsor or aka conrnwall ny! It’s technically new Windsor! Cornwall school is in my back yard with a new Windsor address! So the zoning is off here! The poor area they need tax money so they bus our kids to there crap areas and yet a good school down the clock! Will say the education and programs are better at nfa so it’s a good thing we do get buses there! Wish we had more of a food selection here! It gets cold here in the winter! Snows as early as October! Snows as late as March!! Well Jan feb!! Not to many great people for home remodel ,, most rip u off! Great plumber is jones & Jones! Great people! Care about the customer! Hope this helps anyone thinking to move here! If I like quiet ,, safe,, upscale,, great value for yuur money ! Don’t mind driving to get to stuff & love family type area,, then new Windsor by is for you!! The firehouse is one town over near Walgreens! We have a gas station near there! 3 grocery stores ,, u can’t beat that!! 2 hair salons! Great barber is up the block!! I love it here! We have lived all over!! Thx
