Review of Nacogdoches, Texas

Best Small Town I've Ever Been To: 07/15/2010
Star Rating - 7/15/2010
I have visited the Nacogdoches area several times since I was about 14. I am 30 now and am planning on relocating to this area permanently. There are many large industries that have locations in or around this area that provide a great employment environment without reducing the quality of life. The air quality is amazing and there is green everywhere. The National Parks and lakes are excellent and even with the humidity the summers do not seem as hot because of all the shade offered by the many trees.

This area also has a lot of activities and history for everyone, especially if you are an outdoors person like me and my family. Seemingly endless walking trails, biking, hiking, camping, fishing, boating, and the list just keeps going. For anyone that wants a quiet country lifestyle with some benefits of larger cities, Nagogdoches is for you!

It is an hour away from Shreveport, LA, three hours away from the Dallas metroplex, 2 hours away from Houston, and around 4 hours from the coast. It is somewhat isolated and though the college Stephen F. Austin University is there, it is not a party college town. Everyone is very respectful and pleasant and friendships are made easily. I cannot wait until I relocate in March!!
