Review of Anderson, Indiana

Stay away from Anderson, I am dead serious.
Star Rating - 9/21/2006
This city died many years ago. All that's left are crumbling streets, dilapidated housing and dozens of churches and liquor stores. Being a GM town, Anderson's fate was sealed 25-30 years ago when the oil crisis hit. The city's largest (former) employer, Delco Remy, has been dissolved and exists only in memory. If you're not in the automotive field, you still won't make much money since practically everyone around you is either making minimum wage or is unemployed. See the cost of living index, and the negative population growth? There's a good reason why those numbers are as grim as they are; no one wants to live here and out of those that still do, are either in the process of moving away or they're planning on it.
