Nice people, nice schools, ok economy but you have to beable to endure the hot summers and allergies.

It is okay. I've had horrible allergies here (a ton of people do), and the summers are evil hot. Pearland is pretty boring, but if you're raising kids it fits the bill. You can get to Houston in 20 minutes to satisfy your need for decent restaurants and culture.
