Review of Waycross, Georgia

I've enjoyed living here
Star Rating - 8/7/2019
I have a different perspective of living here. I moved her from a large city and I appreciate the fact that I have no commute, the cost of living is very low and the schools are well run. It's been a good place to raise a family. I have had success career wise here and there are opportunities for entrepreneurship here too. Like any place, it is what you make of it. I enjoy nature and the city back up onto the Okefenokee Swamp. When I want to see something different - Jacksonville, Valdosta, Savannah and Brunswick are a short trip away. Orlando and Tampa aren't far either. The city is close to several beaches but not so close that you'll be terribly affected by hurricanes. Natural disasters are not a big issue here. It's hot as heck, but I love the heat. No snow - great by me. People are friendly. As for complaints about crime and drugs - that's everywhere but it hasn't affected my life because that's not the circle I run with. You see the stars at night, you don't have to worry about constant air pollution and huge crowds everywhere. If you like a slower pace, this town will give you that.
