Review of Prescott, Arizona

Meth addicts, old people and ZERO diversity
Star Rating - 5/21/2017
We relocated to 'Preskit' about one year ago. Now we have decided to leave.
It is as if this place is stuck in a 1950's twilight zone and they like it that way-white. Take that back- if you're a drug addict, you are welcomed, as there are recovery/rehab homes everywhere. (They love hanging out at Fry's on Fair Street.)
Sure, they have an okay little downtown-that's it. I've been to this area all of three times, and I live less than a block away. That should tell you something. If you are a mixed race couple, like we are people will turn their heads to gawk at you. If you are an Afro-centric, natural kind of woman-more looks. Educated, articulate and soft spoken- people will find that 'interesting'. Ya know, because you're not a stereotype. Lovely.
Moving on..
Wages do not reflect cost of living. $1300 for a 2-bedroom. Yet companies want to pay $10?! Right. ..
Listen, my review isn't going to persuade or dissuade a person eager to move here. Go for it, good for you.
However, if you are a progressive, educated African-American woman, Sistah stay away. They don't want us here.

"Like it that way white" ? Really ? If the moderators allowed your silly racist comment, then they shouldn't mind my reply. Maybe "like it that way" is because it equals less crime.

thank you for your honesty in sharing your experience. As an Euro American, retired single male, would you think that it would be a good place for me. I don't drive a pick up truck(Lexus LS) and don't like sports.

Mika... I know this is an old thread....and I know you have your own experience here in Prescott. But not everyone wants you to go away. I love seeing mixed race couples here. And I DO look at them..... because I think they're interesting and attractive! Now I'm from Northern California and my two stepsons are both mixed race (Afro-American and white), so that gives me and my wife a different perspective, for sure. But I know many people here with the same attitude. I also see lots of LGBTQ people here... usually everytime I go downtown. I'm happy that they feel comfortable here. Not everyone is looking down on you, sister. I hope you find a place you're happy with.

Your broad-brush of all non-African Americans as "white" and "racist" is quite a racist thing for you to do. By all means, please go live somewhere where everyone is just like you. You'll be much happier.

Clearly no place for leftists.

I already posted a reply and it vaporized so one more time. Mika, did you take any time to evaluate Prescott before moving your life there? It seems like any intelligent "Sistah" would have done her homework before making a huge life change like that. You don't seem to understand that a black swan in a flock of white swans will get more "looks". It's human nature not racisim as you most definately are implying. Your own stereotype implication is that a town without an Afro-centric componant is populated by illiterate racists. Lady, you think too highly of yourself without understanding others.
