Review of Sutton-Alpine, Alaska

We love it
Star Rating - 10/29/2013
We acquired our homesite 1985, built a log cabin/house and permanently moved there in 2000. Left in 2010 (in our 70's) as the cold became a problem, but still love it and miss that beautiful area. 20 miles from the closest town with medical, grocery, Borough offices and etc. We had well water and electricity after the first few years. Moose passing through the yard and an occasional grizzly. If you love the downtown city life it would be too rural for you, but if you like the wilderness, you would love being there. Sutton has a small grocery/restaurant, Elementary school, State prison 10 miles away, Community church, an old folks home that is only a few years old and a fine new Library.
