Review of Canton, Ohio

Canton, Ohio Sucks
Star Rating - 6/25/2014
Canton, Oh is a rathole yes this place will suck the life out of you, yes there are plenty of prostitutes, drug dealers and users everything is true. Your chance of getting robbed in the city is becoming petty high. This place is a slum even the city will not cut grass let alone renters and home owners. Most work here is minimum wage jobs where you will never get ahead. A lot of people are dirtbags who would rather toss there empty beer/wine bottle in your yard instead of a trash can. There are more welfare moms than you can count who are more happy to just send their 6 kids outside to do what ever they want instead of teaching them right from wrong ( that's what the police are for, if they ever show up). If you are even thinking about moving here because of the low rent or price of houses please read my post and the above post first because the heartache may not be worth it and if you visit and want to meet the residents of this city just come to a local Walmart on the 1st of the month when the food stamp card is refilled.

You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I moved here from the Washington, DC area in 2007. I hate it here with a passion. The people are so mean spirited, gossipers and always keeping drama going. I transferred my job to here and thank GOD I got to keep my salary. I couldn't make it. When my son graduates, I am moving back home. I don't belong here. Moving here was the worst thing I have ever done to myself and my sons. My oldest came here fresh start of 12th grade. He is now grown. My youngest came here fresh start of 2nd grade so this is pretty much him home. So, taking my son who is now in 10th grade from Mayberry to the big, fast city will be a culture shock to him. Everything is so true that you have typed in your posting. It is politics in the school system at the children's expense. SMH. I am a loner here in this place. I do have LESS than a handful of friends but other than that I go to work, support my child in his activities at school. My son is not allowed to roam the streets. He has a very well constructed life style. He has never been in trouble yet. I stay involved with my son. He loves that too. I pray that he keeps his head on straight. I told him when he graduates he must leave this place. Go to college. Get out of this CRAB IN THE BARRELL, MINI WAR TOWN, GOOD OLD BOY SYSTEM, HAVE NOTHING GOING FOR IT PLACE. I moved here in 2007 and I see no emprovement of structure, businesses, the roads been really raggedy with huge pot holes allllll over the damn place. It is now 2015. Still horrible. THey been working on the roads since I been here. This is a very poor place. The ONLY thing they have going for them is The Hall Of Fame. It don't bring money to this city and state. If so, the city must be pocketing the money. Even the people who live here and for some reason feel stuck say they hate it here. DOOOON'T... COME... HERE. I have two more years and I am transferring my job and getting the heck out of here. I AM VERY MISERABLE. IT DOE'S SUCK YOU DRY.

one part you missed, Chris. Dont forget crap neighbors, although they have 2 lots and a back yard, decide to party on their porch til 3-4 AM..Take the party crap INSIDE at 10 PM.. Then, when you call the police, (in which they have no regard for), they pull the white trash/redneck attitude, as if you did something wrong, while they wake you up and keep you up.. I love my house, but I have a real scumbag across the street, with no consideration for anyone else, and his new country bumpkin county girlfriend with a big mouth, doesnt say much about him. You'll never get any class to stay, much less move here, as long as you excuse the trash, and allow them to be a PITA, to others.
