I too have lived all my life. It is not as horrible as dramatically people write. I am raising my kids here. Yes, Stockton has taken a slight turn from the way I grew up in the 90's but it's mostly due to the social and economic stress brought up from people from outside seeking affordable housing- dating back since 2000. Is it safe? We walk our small dog in the Northside by what is considered a high crime area. Not saying that crime does not exist- crime occurs when crooks see an opportunity. Every city has its gang members, drug dealers and homeless- Manteca, Lodi, Tracy, Lathrop, French Camp...all do. But notice that when such a crime occurs in their city- Stockton will still get blamed. I hope you moved to a "safer" city.
