I lived in Detroit for 9 years, left in 2018. The city isn't "coming back". Most of the locals are getting pushed out of their neighborhoods because of gentrification. You either have to live in the poor suburbs or poor inner city areas unless you come from wealth. And good full-time jobs are extremely hard to come by if you have a college degree. There are factory jobs. But not many good paying jobs for people with an education.

Big difference between affordable and cheap. Shyt just ain't worth a damn out there. Worst trip over ever been on. If it's so great, why does every store, even McDonald's, have bullet proof glass? Come on now. You have 5 guys in a car driving around at night looking for people to rob. This happened the first 5 minutes after we got off the freeway getting to Detroit. So I can imagine it happens all the time. Even though this goes on everywhere, I've never had it happen to me until going to Detroit. Not a good look
