Review of Asheville, North Carolina

Many outsiders have changed this town.
Star Rating - 9/25/2019
Asheville used to be a great place until the mass exodus of Floridians and Californians came to town. Now it is overpriced (feeling the same pain Washington State felt when Californians came calling) and it is hard to find sustainable work. I do love to visit because of the scenic beauty, but the South it used to be has changed because of the liberal demographic and also the crime has greatly climbed because of the same naivety taking over government. They love our milk and honey, but they want to complain and change everything. Guest that have overstayed their welcome and the true natives and locals can feel it.

All those people from Florida and California are wealthy and conservative. Typical uninformed conservative blaming everything on the liberals. Complain to your conservative wealthy friends who dont care about the community, about crime, about solving local problems. Only living in their white supremacist gated communities driving up housing prices so no one can afford them.

I doubt Floridans are your problem, most of the Floridans that move to NC are Southern natives called "Florida Crackers". They are nice friendly Southern people. You could be in a worse situation and be stuck in Florida with all the Northerners moving down there. Truth is neither one of us need to be stereotyping people from various states...did you know many Native-Floridan's ancestors came from NC. I'm sure you wouldn't want everyone stereotyping this part of NC as inbred mountain people and freaks going to art school...so be nice.

"They love our milk and honey,"? That's just such a bizarre thing to say. It's the old "libtards have ruined things" argument. If they'd have just left you alone during civil war times, things woulda been better, right? Liberals. Ruining everything with their rights and equality.

She's not stereotyping, she's merely making an observation, and, funny how when people disagree they turn to words like "stereotype." I have lived in north Georgia and Floridians have not made it a better place to live. I suspect many Floridians are New Yorkers and New Jerseytes wo first moved to Florida, couldn't stand the heat and humidity, and then moved again to north GA and western NC. When droves of people move into a lovely area, sparsely populated by locals who grew up with a different mind set, differences arise, and someone ends up being the losers--usually the natives. If you don't believe me, ask an American Indian.

Most southerners think like you," Outsiders have changed this town". I agree, but that applies to every southern city. Our hospitality, charm and lower cost of living was enticing. I don't blame New Yorkers and Californians, I blame politics.

Yes, I agree Asheville is over ran with liberal transplants who moved to Florida and then complain about the heat and then come to WNC and complain.. AMAZING!! They obviously hated their home in the north and seem to be unhappy any place they live. Liberals are generally just miserable people anyway..
