No school in Columbus, Kentucky
Star Rating - 12/31/2009
Just wanted to let everyone know that there is no school in Columbus, Kentucky. That school was torn down back years ago. The Columbus children go to Clinton,Kentucky schools. Just wanted to clear the air about that. Also population is now 300 and there is only one eating place that is still open called "Jen's Place". There use to be a gas station but it went belly up. This town is a very quite town and home to some homes that are historic and some homes that are haunted. Home of Columbus-Belmont State Park, which has a RV camp ground and a rec center. The park has a museum telling about the Civil War that happened there. There are also cannons, one that is The Mighty Gun and the anchor and chain that they dug up on the side of the bluff into the Mississpi River. Great place to visit and stay for awhile. We also have Civil War Days in October which is wonderful with renactment of the Civil War. Come and see.
