Jenks is a suburb community of Tulsa, OK, so there is easy access to all that city has to offer without all the issues of crime, poor public education, unemployment, etc. If what you want is suburban quality of life, Jenks offers it to families of all income levels. Housing costs seem somewhat higher due to desirability of its school district, neat, active downtown area, but there is a substantial inventory of residential housing for purchase or rent. Fairly convenient access to south Tulsa healthcare facilities. Downside: extreme summer heat and ongoing drought conditions. Intolerance: our experience has been that the conservative culture lacks tolerance for people of color, gender difference, political difference.
