My husband has a job opportunity in Gardena. We're considering leaving Seattle for the first time in our lives and moving to LA. We love our home and neighborhood, but see this as an opportunity to stretch ourselves and have an adventure. Wondering if anyone has some suggestions about neighborhoods that are family friendly, affordable, close to Gardena, with good middle/high schools. I'd like my husbands commute to be less than 30 minutes. Appreciate your input.

Gardena is an awful place to live. The high schools are awful (prone to violence and consistently scores poorly in the state exams). Violent crime is the on rise. Petty crimes on the rise. Police force is good at giving citations but not much else. If I were you, I'd look into Torrance, a neighboring city that would provide a better quality of life.
