Review of Scottsdale, Arizona

Sunshine, Friendliest People, Best Place To Live
Star Rating - 9/17/2018
I have to say this is my absolute favorite place. While I love San Diego and parts of California, I find Scottsdale AZ to have the best people, best climate. Not everyone is how people say they are. Sure, there are a lot of "fake" people obsessed with their appearance, but it's definitely not everyone. It's a melting pot of midwesterners, a few east coasters, a few natives of AZ and others. There's so much culture and such amazing differences in people. I notice they are INSANELY friendly. I'm from the east coast originally, so this place feels like the nicest place on earth. I LOVE that it barely rains. Walking out into the sunshine EVERY SINGLE DAY is worth so much to me. Being from Philly, it's dreary, miserable, cloudy, rainy, snowy most of the year. Scottsdale has won me over. I don't think I'll ever leave Arizona.

I have to hand it to you for the positive attitude, but I couldn't disagree more. Unfortunately, the only melting pot I've seen since I've lived here the past seven years is a melting pot of douchebags. No matter where in this town I go, there they are. I put the house up for sale last night, though, so my wife and I are moving back to Washington pronto. Three hundred days of rain a year never sounded so good.

Christina, thank you for adding some PA perspective. I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and those that have never lived in the dreary and often unfriendly northeast (specially areas of PA) have NO idea what douchebags really are, especially if they are from an awesome place to begin with. I have spent weeks in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Fountain Hills areas over the past 20 years and have witnessed the changes to that AZ area. Any negative changes seem to be minor when compared to Philly and they dying Pittsburgh areas. The idea of NOT being required to plan your entire life around terrible weather is great. I believe that area of AZ will be in my top 3 places for retirement so that I can get outdoors more and actually live.
