The sad truth is that drugs influence crime; Mineral Wells has its reputation for being a drug infested community. The wrap is not all that bad, but any crime is a turn off for people looking forward to finding a desirable location to live with a family, to retire, or live alone.
2012 is an election year, and currently the citizens are seeking a mandate to increase drug awareness at all levels of education, for parents, and others. Awareness provides people the ability to recognize suspicious behavior and to report it. Our community is actively seeking changes and to lower the drug-related crimes of burglary and theft.
