I've lived in the area in or around Sweetwater for a number of years, having come from the east coast. Fewer people per square mile than back there for sure is what is attractive to me about the area. Sort of dusty, windy and quiet. For some that might not be at all attrative. However, it is a decent place to live and raise a family. And yes there are many job opportunities of all types. From wind farm jobs to gypsum production including making the panels and moving them by truck. The oil business is booming. There are a number of shops and restaurants. The place is legendary for it's schools including sports programs that have produced some very well known athletes. Then there is the annual rattlesnake roundup that occurs each year in the spring. People literally come from around the world to attend. The flavor of this community is rich but probably not for city slickers.
