Review of Forest, Ohio

Not a Happy Place
Star Rating - 5/14/2015
My family and I moved to Forest with high expectations only to be very disappointed. This is not a cuddly, friendly little town. There are lots of problems. The numerous ordinances are not evenly applied, the people are very hostile, and it's a very difficult place to live. You get all of the problems of living in a small town, but all of the inconveniences of being far from everything that you need. When you move somewhere like Forest, you must plan on driving a lot.

Forest has also joined many of the municipalities in Ohio by rescinding the local tax credit. Please research this before moving anywhere in this state. What this means is that you must pay local taxes for both the city you work in and the city you live in. This adds up. Forest residents must also pay a school district income tax in addition to property taxes.

Of course, there are good people in this village but for the most part we have found it an extremely difficult and inconvenient place to live.
