Review of McCaysville, Georgia

Religious intolerance
Star Rating - 5/22/2012
If you are planning on moving to the Mccaysville, Blue Ridge, or Copperhill area because of the beautiful scenerary and the "perfect picture" brochures and advertisements and you are NOT of a Christian oriented faith you may want to think again. Especially if you are trying to open a business. The city officials do not up hold the united states constitution here in particular the first amendment. If you try to open an Occult bookstore, or a "Pagan" gifts shop then you will be harassed and threatened until you close by the city officials. I have seen it one too many times and I am myself a Pagan. However, if you try to protest a church gathering on your own property they pull out the first amendment, but when defending your own beliefs with the same amendment it goes unheard. Do your family and favor if you are not of the Christian religion and seek another place to live/visit as I am currently doing.

How is this place for families of color to visit. We are looking to book a cabin in August in the area, and with the climate of today I feel like we need anyother Green book to travel. It's sad. We have been harassed in the past couple years any time we are traveling in the south. I feel like time went back. While we keep our protection on us It's still a fear for my sons safety.
