Review of Hastings, Michigan

Somewhat quiet town in outskirts...
Star Rating - 8/8/2007
it's somewhat nice, it's expanding with Super Walmart and Meijers moving nearby town within the next few years.(Good for minimum wage workers). Although since it has been expanding the crime rate is going up, right now it's not that bad though, if you live in the outskirts.
Lakes are all around within 15 mile radius.
Somewhat diverse community.
Property taxes are up, and the jobs are allright, although most of the companys around Hastings go on the "good ol' boy" arrangement of advancement. So if you're looking to move up in your career or make a larger income, as all the other people that are looking to move outa here, you would have to work somewhere else.
As Michigans economy is losing in the manufacturing arena, the white collar jobs are moving in per-Governer Granholms plan.
Hastings has Summerfest, winter festival, sidewalk sales, jazz festivals, etc. lots of parades throughout the year. Lots of candy!! Its very family friendly.
