Review of Pearland, Texas

West Pearland - Suburban
Star Rating - 4/20/2013
Pearland can be generally divided into East (older) and West (newer) with some outliers in each side. I live(d) in "Pearland West" in a master planned (suburban) community known as Silverlake.

Silverlake is made up of business areas (mostly restaurant and retail), a few apartment complexes and town homes, but is primarily single family neighborhoods. Silverlake has been designed with a large percentage of cul-de-sacs to reduce vehicular traffic and speeds, to provide safer areas for children to play and provide many small parks for young children. In an agreement with some other nearby communities, residents have access to several pools with club houses, large parks, athletic fields/tennis courts, and even some modern "splash pads."

Within a few miles there are:
- 2 dog parks (one with a dog pool)
- 2 movie theaters (one Cinemark and one Premiere)
- Randalls, Kroger, H-E-B and Food Town
- Target, Walmart, Sam's Club, Best Buy, Kohl's, Home Depot, , Academy, and more, including a mall
- 2 Full time Emergency Rooms and several Urgent Care clinics
