Advise on relocating to TN - outdoorsy/work please

Some friends moved to Nashville and surrounding areas and love it.We enjoy visiting the area, but were trying to narrow down areas to relocate to in TN.We will be retired by then, but still need to work, even part time.Our 'checklist' would included:*good job market; education, hospitality, real estate, local CDL driver*outdoor activities; biking, hiking, walking, visiting historic landmarks*'climate' - conservative (2nd Amendment, we are in America)*low crime rateWe have travelled from Memphis to Knoxville a few years back. The people were amazingly friendly everywhere, we could have taken them home with us ;-) Eastern TN was great, as it was closer to the mountains, but I am hoping to get some advise from people who live in TN where some of the items we're looking for could be found.Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
