Thinking to move to Dallas suburbs from NY

I have only spent a few days in Mckinney and surrounding area such as Plano prosper Lucas Frisco and down town Dallas. The reason I and my family visited from New York we are thinking of relocating to Mckinney or near by places. We went in the begging of August we didn’t find the weather extremely hot. It was hot but it was dry. We looked at houses and we liked them. Home prices were affordable compared to NY. However, the restaurants were not cheap. We don’t go out to eat a lot. Prices in the supermarkets were very similar to NY like Target or Walmart. The schools seems had nice rating. I am a Nurse and working in NY afraid to make a move to Texas. We have small kids in elementary school. I would appreciate any input on living and working as a nurse in Dallas area /suburbs
