Review of Commerce charter township, Michigan

Rolling hills and lakes near metro Detroit
Star Rating - 5/20/2008
Commerce Township is an area of lakes and wetlands surrounded by hills and trees that lacks the feel of an urban area. In some areas, much of the year there is no background noise from freeway traffic. Historically, Commerce Township dates to the mid 1800's. Taxes are reasonable and schools are very good. Most commercial development is on the east side of Commerce Township such that the central and west portions have a very real rural charm. Living on the west side places one very close to the charming village of Milford, with several unique restaurants and a thriving mainstreet. In comparison to living in Iowa and Illinois, Winters here in Michigan are longer but with much less wind and not as severely cold. Generally, we do have more snow but the Winters are very tolerable. Due to the influence of geography and the Great Lakes, Spring, Autumn, and even Summer are very tolerable. Air conditioning is only needed for 2 months a year especially in rural Commerce Township. Crime is very low in rural areas of Commerce Township.
