Review of Troy, New York

1840 to 1960 well built homes
Star Rating - 3/16/2016
Troy, NY was once the fourth richest Per Capita city in the nation1880 ! Our beautiful buildings --civic, residential, and business-- rested until this century and are now just one of the assets attracting many new urban dwellers since 2000. We are just seven square miles with the Hudson River to the west, rural fields to East, North and south, Urban and suburban Albany, Saratoga, Schenectady County fill the West side of the Hudson. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hudson Valley Community College, Russell Sage College / Sage University thrive here. Troy's downtown is alive year round and day, night and weekend with restaurants, Troy Waterfront Farmers Market, tvCOG makers place, and new technology business activity.

Looking to move to Troy from NYC. I have noticed that the crime rate is relatively high. I have two small kids and I'm a single mom. I work for the NYS courts. Would you recommend it?
