Virginia may seem to have a reasonable income tax rate (5.0%) but when you add up all the other taxes i.e. Personal property tax, business property tax, sales tax, county real-estate taxes, county dump fee’s, dog license fees, and the list goes on. I think you get the point. If you own nothing, have nothing, don't work, Virginia is quite affordable. It's been getting worst year after year.
