My views on Richmond are conflicting. It can be a clickish place. It can also be racist. There are pockets and areas of BAD crime. Then there are areas rhat are... ok, within the city linits. However, the farther out you go into the suburbs the better. Some suburbs are better than others for a black person, such as myself. I know at least 2 black people peraonally who chose to exercise their right to live were they wanted--and they were harassed or constantly bothered by their...non-brown neighbors. However I have made a few great friends at my job and the friendship has stuck for these last 6 years of my living in Richmond. But 2 of them arw also ready to leave Richmond. Richmond does have a good amount of free things to do, especially in the summer for the kids. This is something that is very important for me. Some of the schools in some of the surrounding counties are not as good as they used to be, some are. I have made no friends outside of work since I have lived here. I like Richmond. At the same time, I dont.
