Review of Carthage, North Carolina

Carthage - The best little town in North Carolina
Star Rating - 3/9/2010
I have lived all over the world and never thought I would settle down. Somehow I ended up in North Carolina, close to Carthage. When I found out I was going to be a mother I had to consider putting down roots. Carthage was my choice. Not only does it have that southern hospitality and charm we all love, but also an underlying artistical thread that runs through the people (and close to Seagrove). It is one of the few places that downtown is still the place to be. It is the county seat, and so there is a sherrif, town police or county police car at every turn. There is little to no worry allowing your kids to wonder down to the town park named after a fabulous doctor who happens to now be a potter! My boyfriend's grandfather was the town dentist, like his father before him and so on. There is so much positive history here, with a combination of education, politics, and art with several equestrian and golfing communities down the road. Not to mention the local airport with the best barbeque joint in the state, The Pik n Pig.
I love this town nestled between the mountains and the beach. A vacation is only 2 hours away. I consider myself lucky to have found it.
