Colton is Better than Expected

My husband and I moved to California 18 months ago from the east coast. Intially we weren't considering Colton to buy our second home but after months of looking in Loma Linda, Redlands and Grand Terrace we decided to give it a try. To our surprise there were several neighborhoods that had all the amenities that the more 'desirable' areas had to offer without the higher price tag. That is if you call homes starting at $325K and up cheap. Local parks, new shopping centers, easy access to the freeways and more house for the money made it ideal for our blossoming family. Our neighborhood is culturally diverse and more and more educated people are coming to the area. Now that we've been in Colton for several months all the rumors of high crime and bad schools have been dispelled. I'd caution against the historical area of Colton but there is always talk of revitalization in the future.
