Stay far away! The town has dried up since WalMart moved in. There is no downtown any more. The mayor is an idiot. The city council isn't much better. The police are corrupt, so much so that some of the better ones have quit lately. The people are not friendly. They have a "Mushroom Festival" every May which has dwindled to nothing. The good points are the Farris Theater and they do have nice streets downtown around the square, where no one has a reason to go. Basically, typical small town with small town "good ole' boy" politics. I was born and raised there. When my family dies off, I will never, ever return.
