Outrageous cost of living

I moved to FLG in September 1999 having no idea what it was like. The beauty and great quality of life were immediately evident, however it took about a month or two of working (at that time) for about $6 p/h to realize how ridiculously expensive it is to live here! The city government cares only about the almighty tourist dollar and the service jobs (filled by an unending labor supply of college kids) that cater to them. It's been a great 14 years or so but my time is coming to an end and moving to a much more reasonable area (I'm looking at you Bisbee!!)is probably not too far away. A great place to live. . . . but only if you make enough money to be able to afford it!
