Review of Salisbu,

great if you were born here
Star Rating - 7/24/2009
I have found Salisbury to be a very hrd place to live. I find a lot of people here have a very negative opinion of those who aren't from "the shore". I moved here for a job and my husband had the hardest time finding a white collar job and eventually ended up setteling. We are not happy with the quality of the schools, the weather leaves a lot to be desired. And as someone else state it seems to be a very backward place. Once the summer season is over and the beach goers leave it is dead here. If you wanna live in a tourist trap Salisbury is the place for you!

I've lived in Maryland for 19 years and was raised here, I moved out to NYC for 3 years, NJ for a year, and then back to Md. I need to say it's one of the worst places I've ever been, I'm saving up for a house and will move out of this state forever one day. The people are super unfriendly in every county, I've been to Elk Neck, Annapolis, the inner city, the Eastern Shore, Silver spring, all over. Most people are quick to anger, don't think rationally, and use opinion as fact, frequently rejecting facts in place of opinion. The woman here are mostly unstable, and far too many people are out of shape here. The drivers are loopy and don't know how to drive, road rage is common place. Teachers keep black jacks in their desks hoping to "rock" someone with it if a fight starts "search yahoo news" for a recent school shooting report and a teacher says in the comment section what I just stated. They are against our amendments and people fear guns, and chose to take away our rights as Americans because of their own personal opinion, it's a police state with messed up politics and horrible laws in favor of criminals, and although I'm generalizing I'd have to say most of the people who live here have a very distorted and negative view on reality and lack horribly any form of self expression other than anger. Any form of self expression is usually met with harassment, and children are raised terribly, I've seen children raise their fists as old as 10 as they almost walk into you. Out of my 3 years in NYC never once have I seen that sort of behavior. The city in NYC is loud and every now and then you get loud people, but never have I seen the sort of bad parenting in all my travels that I've come across here. In Annapolis going into my own apartment parents let their children sit in my parking spot and teach them nothing, later only to have my car keyed just for being there. The violence and horrible quality of people are out of this world. Maryland has places to go, and interesting locations, but it's utterly dwarfed by the horrible quality of people that seem to mass in the state. The people who seem to like this place, have ZERO empathy, live off of opinion, chose group mentality, and horde children while teaching them how to be a horrible person. They of course will tell you how great it is. Personally I had a better time out of my 2 years in Iraq than I've had out of 19 years in Maryland. The entire state, is one of the worst places I've ever been too. When people come here my only thought is "how bad was it where you come from, that you thought it was a smart idea to come HERE" LOL I'm just being honest, I have no agenda. It's just a terrible place to live, and you should go to the fires below if you raise a child here.
